PAPERART

I fell in love with paperart early 1980`s while I was studying Textile Art in University of Applied Arts. I made my Ma studies , early experiment focused on ancient art of sheetmaking of paperpulp and papermaking history .The subsequentrealization that wet pulp retains the shape and texture of the mold into which it was pressed led to a new life for paper as a sculptural medium.

ABOUT MY WORKING

For aesthetic reasons I always combine traditional papermaking and the technology of mass production in my compositions. I draw parallels between different structures ,explore small changes . Investigate thoughts and dreams and prayers .The use of goldleaves and beeswax in my works are a subtle reminder of my Orthodox childhood home and the smell of tapers.
